Two Musicians Killed in Nasca Minivan Crash into 200‑Meter Abyss
A minivan traveling on kilometer 75 of the Interoceánica Sur highway near Nasca, Peru, lost control and fell more than 200 metres into a deep gorge. The accident killed two musicians and left a dozen others injured. Survivor and musician Miguel Alegría described the vehicle spinning several times before plunging, noting that the driver appeared fatigued and that no mechanical failure was evident. Rescue efforts by local transporters and residents helped extract the injured, who were first taken by private vehicles to medical care. Alegría suffered a fractured arm and will require months to recover. Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact cause, focusing on driver error and fatigue.
