Al-Mughayyir: Two Palestinian teenagers killed during West Bank raid

Two Palestinian teenagers, 19-year-old Omar al-Nassan and 16-year-old Khalil Abu Alia, were killed during an incident in the West Bank village of al-Mughayyir. Local authorities and residents report that the deaths occurred during a military-escorted operation by Israeli settlers and soldiers intended to seize livestock from Palestinian shepherds.

Residents claim that snipers took positions on rooftops during the operation. Khalil Abu Alia was reportedly shot in the neck while on his doorstep, while Omar al-Nassan was shot twice, including once in the back. The Israeli military stated that its forces entered the village to protect police and a civilian recovering livestock, and that troops fired at “key instigators” of a violent disturbance involving stones and cinder blocks. The military noted the incident is under investigation.

The killings come amid a reported surge in settler-related violence in the West Bank. The United Nations has expressed deep concern regarding these persistent attacks and has condemned the deaths of the Palestinian civilians.
