Two police officers killed in armed attack on municipal patrol in Córdoba, Veracruz

On July 9, 2026, a group of armed assailants opened fire on a municipal police patrol in the city of Córdoba, Veracruz, Mexico, at the intersection of Avenida 4 and Calle 15. The attack left two officers dead, including Gustavo Ramón R. R., the chief of the municipal traffic department, and injured several others who were taken to hospital for treatment.
