New Jersey teens charged after stolen G-Wagon chase kills two
Four teenagers are facing charges after allegedly stealing a $220,000 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon and leading police on a multi-hour pursuit through Atlantic County, New Jersey. The joyride ended in a fatal head-on collision near the intersection of Route 50 and Third Street in Mays Landing.
During the pursuit, the stolen SUV was traveling at high speed on the wrong side of the road when it struck a Hyundai sedan, sending the vehicle into a nearby gas station. The crash killed the two occupants of the Hyundai, identified as 54-year-old Robert Barr Jr. and 67-year-old Alice Stillwell of Egg Harbor Township.
Authorities stated that the suspects, including 18-year-old Nayshaun Brown and three unnamed minors, escaped the wreckage largely uninjured and attempted to flee the scene on foot before being apprehended. The group faces charges including conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, joyriding, and eluding police. Investigators are still working to determine which individual was driving the SUV at the moment of the impact.
