Two River Drowning Tragedies Claim Teens in Indonesia

Two separate drowning incidents occurred in Indonesian rivers. In Lampung's Way Sekampung River, two 16‑year‑old students, Agam Dino Putra and M. Faris Alfitra, were swept away while attempting to save a friend. After a two‑day search, both bodies were recovered and handed to their families, who declined autopsies.

In Jambi's Tembesi River, eight‑year‑old Muhammad Fajri Setiawan disappeared while bathing with peers. A joint search and rescue team from Basarnas and local authorities deployed personnel, a rescue vehicle and inflatable boats, continuing the search for the missing child.

Both events highlight ongoing river safety concerns and the rapid response of local SAR teams.
