Two separate shootings kill men in Guadalajara and Puebla, Mexico

On July 7, 2026, a man was shot in the face and killed on a public street in the Santa Elena de la Cruz neighbourhood of Guadalajara, Jalisco. Police said two men on a two‑wheeled vehicle opened fire before fleeing the scene. The victim's body was taken to the metropolitan forensic service pending identification.

Later the same day, a 25‑year‑old man named Armando R. S. was found dead on a road near the Puente Revolución in the municipality of Chignahuapan, Puebla. He had multiple gunshot wounds and was discovered alongside a vehicle that appeared to have been involved in a traffic incident. Authorities suspect a link to a local criminal group known as “Los Gansitos,” but the motive remains under investigation.

Both incidents prompted municipal police investigations and the sealing off of the locations to preserve evidence.
