Two serious traffic collisions in Karlovac leave driver and teenage motorcyclist badly injured

On June 27, 2026, a 27‑year‑old female driver in Karlovac failed to keep a safe distance on the A‑1 highway near km 35 and struck the rear of an Austrian‑registered vehicle. She was seriously injured and faces sanctions under traffic safety law, with a criminal complaint pending.

Later that day, at 19:15 on Mala Jelsa street, a 58‑year‑old female driver turned left without confirming safety, colliding with a 16‑year‑old unlicensed motorcyclist who was overtaking. Both the driver and the teenager were severely injured. A criminal complaint will be filed against the 58‑year‑old driver, and a prosecutor's indictment is planned against the teenager.

Both incidents are being investigated by the state prosecutor’s office and will result in legal proceedings.
