Two Severely Injured in Zagreb Traffic Crash, Driver Charged

A traffic collision on Ljubljana Avenue in Zagreb’s Trešnjevci district left two people seriously injured early Sunday morning. At about 01:15, a 37‑year‑old driver of a Zagreb‑registered car failed to adjust his speed to road and visibility conditions and struck the left side of a 24‑year‑old driver’s vehicle traveling in the same direction. The 24‑year‑old's car was forced into a protective barrier, while the 37‑year‑old’s car spun out of control, overturned, and hit a street‑light pole. The driver and a 53‑year‑old passenger suffered severe injuries and were taken to Sestre milosrdnice Hospital and Zagreb Clinical Hospital, respectively. Zagreb police said a criminal complaint will be filed against the 37‑year‑old for alleged reckless driving causing a traffic accident.
