Two students killed in fatal car accident near Lom

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Saturday evening near Lom in the Most region of the Czech Republic, resulting in the deaths of two female high school graduates. The collision took place shortly after 9:00 PM between a Škoda Fabia and another vehicle.

Four other people were injured in the crash. Two individuals sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to the trauma center at Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem, while two others with light to moderate injuries were transported by ambulance to a hospital in Most.

Students from the Secondary School of Diplomacy in Most, who were nearby, provided immediate assistance to the victims before emergency services arrived. The school's director, Vladimíra Ilievová, praised the students for their mature response and offered condolences to the families of the deceased.

Police have detained a driver suspected of causing the accident. Investigators are currently seeking additional witnesses, specifically looking for the driver or occupants of a Volkswagen Passat that was traveling behind the vehicles involved at the time of the crash.
