Two teenagers found dead after drowning in Sungai Pagalan

Two teenagers, aged 13 and 16, have been found dead after drowning in Sungai Pagalan, Keningau. The victims, identified as Jastey Goment and Khend Romel Ponce Caceres, were reported missing on Friday afternoon while swimming with friends near the Pagalan Ferry Jetty.

Following a search and rescue (SAR) operation, the Water Rescue Team (PPDA) located Jastey Goment at approximately 10:34 a.m. on Saturday, roughly 50 meters from the initial incident site. Khend Romel Ponce Caceres was recovered later that afternoon at approximately 3:55 p.m., about 80 meters from the location.

The multi-agency operation involved the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM). The bodies have been handed over to the police for further action.
