Two traffic accidents in Paraná, Brazil kill one and injure another

A fatal hit‑and‑run occurred early Saturday on Avenida Visconde de Taunay in Ponta Grossa, Paraná. The victim died at the scene and the driver left before emergency services arrived. Police, forensic teams and ambulance crews were dispatched, but the victim had no identification documents and was pronounced dead on arrival. The incident is under investigation.

The following morning, a separate crash was reported on the PR‑082 highway near São João do Ivaí, also in Paraná. A 25‑year‑old driver lost control of a Chevrolet Tracker, which rolled onto the roadside. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to the municipal hospital. An alcohol test was negative and his license was valid. Police are reviewing the cause of the accident.
