Two Vietnamese war hero remains recovered in Quang Tri province
On 17‑18 July 2026, local authorities in Hiếu Giang commune, Quảng Trị province recovered the remains of two soldiers from the 968th Division of the Vietnam People's Army. The search‑and‑recovery team uncovered the bodies at a depth of about 50‑60 cm in the Cam Thanh hamlet, along with personal items such as a bamboo satchel, nine uniform buttons, a belt, and several teeth.
The remains and artifacts were transferred to the community cultural house in Phú Ngạn for preservation and ceremonial worship. Officials said the team will continue an expanded search in the area to locate any additional remains and to verify the identities of the fallen soldiers.
