Two women arrested in Barcelona area for €390,000 jewelry theft

The Mossos d'Esquadra detained two women, aged 41 and 36, on 13 July for a series of home robberies that stole jewellery and cash worth about €390,000. The crimes were carried out between February and June in several residences across Barcelona, Sant Cugat del Vallès and Sant Pere de Vilamajor.

Investigators say the primary suspect, a home‑care worker, stole the items and, together with the second woman, sold them to gold‑buying shops, earning a profit of around €37,700. Police recovered ten pieces of jewellery—including gold chains, rings and earrings—and a receipt from a gold‑trading outlet. Both suspects were placed in judicial custody on 15 July.

Six counts of robbery with force and six counts of theft were filed against the main suspect, while the accomplice faces two counts of receipt of stolen goods.
