Spain women's crime arrests

In July 2026 Spanish police detained multiple women for separate financial crimes. On 13 July, the Mossos d'Esquadra captured two women, aged 41 and 36, for a string of home robberies across Barcelona, Sant Cugat del Vallès and Sant Pere de Vilamajor that stole jewellery and cash worth about €390 000. Police recovered ten pieces of jewellery and secured charges of robbery with force and theft.

A week later, the Guardia Civil in Fabero, León, arrested a 54‑year‑old woman suspected of defrauding an elderly nursing‑home resident of roughly €25 000 using a stolen debit card. In Palma de Mallorca, the Policía Nacional detained another woman accused of posing as a lawyer to swindle a commercial‑property owner out of more than €5 200 through fabricated legal fees and false documents. Both suspects face fraud‑related charges.

These arrests illustrate ongoing law‑enforcement efforts across Spain to combat a range of property‑and‑financial crimes involving female suspects, from high‑value jewellery theft to fraud schemes targeting vulnerable individuals and businesses.
