Tygodnik Powszechny sees growth amid Polish press market decline

Tygodnik Powszechny has emerged as the only growing title in the Polish press market during the first half of 2026. According to data from Polish Reading Research (PBC), the publication saw a 12.99% increase in single-issue sales, reaching 22,988 copies. This growth stands in contrast to the nine other titles included in the PBC ranking, which experienced a combined sales decline of 9.83%.

The growth is primarily driven by a significant surge in digital distribution. E-edition sales rose by 69.7% compared to the previous year, increasing from 5,186 to 8,799 copies. While print sales for the title decreased by 6.4%, the digital expansion more than compensated for the decline, resulting in a total sales increase of 2,642 copies. Digital editions now account for over 38% of the publication's total sales, up from less than 26% the previous year.
