Typhoon Dujuan expected to develop east of Guam

A tropical depression located east of Guam is expected to develop into the 25th typhoon of the season, named ‘Dujuan’, within the next 24 hours. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the system is moving northwest and is projected to intensify significantly.

Forecasts indicate that the typhoon's maximum wind speeds could reach approximately 39 meters per second by the 19th as it moves toward the waters east of Okinawa, Japan. While current projections suggest the typhoon may bypass the Korean Peninsula, its exact trajectory remains uncertain due to potential shifts caused by surrounding atmospheric pressure systems and upper-level currents.

In addition to the typhoon's development, South Korea is expected to experience significant temperature fluctuations, with daily highs and lows differing by 10 to 15 degrees Celsius through the upcoming Chuseok holiday period.
