U12 Baseball Series Set for Mexico, Boxing Stars Aim for Santo Domingo Games 2026

The Confederación de Béisbol Profesional del Caribe (CBPC) approved the venue for the III Serie del Caribe Kids, a U12 baseball tournament that will take place from August 10‑16, 2026 in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico, at the Estadio Coloso del Pacífico. Six teams will compete, including two Mexican squads—one of them the Tomateritos de Culiacán—and representatives from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Panama.

Dominican boxer Cristian Pinales, a bronze medalist from the 2024 Paris Olympics, confirmed his intention to fight at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. Pinales, who won the 2023 regional title, said, “These Santo Domingo 2026 Games are a total madness, we have to give everything, we can’t disappoint the Dominican people,” and pledged to defend his championship in the 80‑kg division against rivals such as Cuba’s Julio de la Cruz and Colombia’s José Vargas.
