UACH students participate in National Drone Competition

Students from the Faculty of Engineering at the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (UACH) participated in the 2026 National Drone Competition, specifically the UAV/RPAV-1 Formula Circuit, held in Mexico City. The event took place during World Space Week 2026 at the IPN Aerospace Development Center and the Zacatenco Baseball Fields.

The UACH delegation contributed in two capacities. Members of the AIAA student chapter competed using a drone they designed and manufactured themselves, utilizing aerospace engineering, electronics, and control systems. Additionally, members of the COMEA student chapter were responsible for the installation, organization, and coordination of the charging circuit category, which included preparing stations and installing obstacles.

The competition was organized with the participation of the Mexican Council of Aerospace Education (COMEA) and the Aerospace Development Center (CDA) of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), bringing together students from various national institutions to demonstrate skills in unmanned aerial vehicle design and operation.
