UAE addresses AI integration in aviation and data security risks

In the United Arab Emirates, officials and security researchers are addressing the complexities of integrating artificial intelligence into critical sectors. At the ForsaTEK 2025 forum, Omar Sultan Al Olama, the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, advised aviation organizations against fully replacing human staff with robots and AI. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining a human presence to provide “humane service” while urging companies to take calculated risks with innovation to avoid damaging their reputations.

Simultaneously, a report from Delinea highlights significant security challenges regarding AI implementation within the UAE. While 100% of surveyed UAE organizations have formal policies governing AI data access, 98% reported instances where AI tools accessed sensitive data beyond their specific task requirements. The research indicates an enforcement gap, noting that 70% of UAE organizations failed to detect such instances within 24 hours, and only 16% could immediately revoke an AI tool’s credentials.
