UAE artificial intelligence integration

Overview

The United Arab Emirates is advancing significant artificial intelligence integration across both public and private sectors. Under the UAE Government 4.0 framework, the government has launched the ‘agentic AI project’ to automate 50 percent of government operations, services, and tasks within two years. This initiative, organized by the National Committee for the Agentic AI Project, focuses on seven pillars including governance, innovation, and strategic intelligence. Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, noted that the deployment is intended to strengthen the UAE’s global leadership in future-ready governance, operating under the principle that ‘human leads, AI enables.’ To support this transition, the Ministry of State for Artificial Intelligence has opened registration for the seventh cohort of its Artificial Intelligence Program. Running from September 2026 to January 2027 in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, the curriculum focuses on generative and assistive AI. Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, emphasized that developing national skills is a strategic priority to ensure leadership in the AI economy. Academic and professional development efforts are expanding, including increased female participation in the sector. Dr. Hanan Aldarmaki has become the first Emirati woman to join the faculty at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), where she leads the Center of Teaching and Learning and conducts research in natural language processing. In the private sector, e& UAE has begun embedding Agentic AI directly into mobile and fixed connectivity plans. Additionally, the SHRM MENA Annual Conference & Expo 2026, scheduled for December in Dubai, will feature an ‘HR + AI Lab’ to assist organizations in transitioning from theoretical discussions to practical workforce deployment. Expanding private sector efforts, Dubai Chambers has launched a specialized training initiative through the Dubai Chambers Academy targeting more than 14,000 companies.
