UAE advances AI integration through research and professional development

The United Arab Emirates is seeing increased participation of women in the artificial intelligence sector. Dr. Hanan Aldarmaki, the first Emirati woman to join the faculty at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), is contributing to the field through research in natural language processing and by leading the university’s Center of Teaching and Learning.

In the corporate sector, the SHRM MENA Annual Conference & Expo 2026 is scheduled for December 16–17 in Dubai. The event will feature an ‘HR + AI Lab’ designed to help organizations transition from theoretical artificial intelligence discussions to practical workforce deployment. The conference is expected to host over 2,000 regional business and HR leaders to discuss digital transformation and economic diversification within the GCC region.
