UAE athletes achieve success at Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games

United Arab Emirates athletes have achieved notable results at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. In athletics, Mariam Karim qualified for the women's 400m hurdles final after leading her heat with a personal best time of 55.14 seconds. In the men's 400m sprint, Emmanuel Bamidile advanced to the next round with a time of 45.76 seconds, while Sulaiman Abdulrahman recorded 45.89 seconds.

In equestrian sports, Bianca Schutz and Ali Khalfan Al Juhari made history as the first two Emirati riders to qualify for the individual dressage finals in a single Asian Games edition. Schutz placed 12th in the freestyle final, while Al Juhari placed 13th.

Other performances included sixth place for the UAE dressage team in the team final. In weightlifting, Mai Al Madani placed second in her group with a total of 159 kg, and Bashayer Al Ahbabi finished seventh in the women's 57 kg category. In shooting, the mixed team of Ghaya Shaheel and Mohammed Saleh finished 18th in the 10m air pistol qualifying round.
