UAE braces for multi‑day showers amid extreme heat
The United Arab Emirates' National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) warned that rain will affect eastern, southern and some inland areas from Monday for four consecutive days. Afternoon convective clouds are expected to bring showers, with light to moderate southeast‑to‑northeast winds that may gust up to 40 km/h and raise dust in exposed locations. Sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Temperatures across the Emirates will stay unusually high, with coastal and island areas forecast to reach 42‑47 °C and interior regions up to 50 °C. Major cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah are expected to peak around 46 °C, while Al Ain may see the highest temperature at 47 °C. The NCM advised residents and visitors to take precautions during lightning, avoid open or elevated areas, and drive carefully due to reduced visibility.
These weather conditions follow an earlier forecast that predicted isolated rainfall in eastern regions on the same day, accompanied by similar temperature highs and gentle sea breezes.
