UAE condemns Iranian attack on Saudi carrier in Strait of Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned an Iranian attack on the Saudi carrier ‘Sidr’ in the Strait of Hormuz. The incident, which occurred during transit, resulted in multiple crew fatalities.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a grave threat to international navigation and a dangerous escalation that undermines the security of a critical global waterway. The Ministry stated that the targeting of commercial vessels is a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817 and constitutes an unacceptable use of economic coercion.

Expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia, the UAE emphasized that such actions threaten regional stability, global energy security, and international trade flows. The Ministry called for the safeguarding of freedom of navigation in both regional and international waters.
