UAE Cybersecurity Council thwarts 750,000 cyberattack attempts

The UAE Cybersecurity Council has announced that its national cybersecurity system successfully detected and countered approximately 750,000 cyberattack attempts. These attempts targeted several vital sectors, most notably the energy and education industries.

The intercepted threats included remote code execution attempts, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, phishing, and sophisticated attacks supported by artificial intelligence. The Council noted that the high volume of detected attempts reflects the increasing global sophistication of cyber threats rather than successful breaches.

To maintain digital infrastructure stability, the Council utilizes an integrated national system focused on continuous monitoring, early detection, advanced analysis, and proactive response. The UAE continues to develop its national capabilities by employing advanced technologies and AI to enhance cyber defense and ensure the continuity of digital services.
