Egypt Sets Official Fuel Prices for July 2026

Following a Cabinet meeting, Egypt announced new official fuel prices effective Monday, 13 July 2026. The price of premium gasoline (95 octane) is set at 24 EGP per litre, regular gasoline (92 octane) at 22.25 EGP, and lower‑grade gasoline (80 octane) at 20.75 EGP. Diesel (solar) is priced at 20.50 EGP per litre.

The government also confirmed the cost of LPG cylinders: a 12.5 kg household cylinder at 275 EGP and a 25 kg commercial cylinder at 550 EGP. Automotive gas (CNG) will range between 10 and 13 EGP per cubic metre. Prime Minister Mohamed Medbouli noted that earlier price spikes were driven by the Iran‑U.S. conflict, stating, "Before the war, a barrel of oil was $69; after our measures, it rose to $93, then $125 in April due to the conflict. We aim to shield citizens from additional burdens." The new pricing mechanism will be reviewed quarterly to avoid further consumer impact.
