UAE Faces 46°C Heat and Light Winds Over Weekend

The UAE is set for a spell of settled summer weather this weekend, with fair skies and light to moderate winds. Inland areas will see temperatures rise into the mid‑40s, with Liwa forecast to reach 46 °C and Al Ain 45 °C on Thursday. Coastal cities will be slightly cooler, posting highs of 42 °C in Abu Dhabi, 40 °C in Dubai and 42 °C in Sharjah.

Winds are expected to shift from north‑westerly to south‑easterly later in the day, remaining generally light (10‑20 kph) and occasionally reaching 30 kph. Sea states in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will stay slight, with a marginal increase in breeziness on Saturday and Sunday when gusts could hit up to 35 kph. Overall conditions will stay fair throughout the weekend.
