UAE faces extreme heat with temperatures up to 48°C and scattered rain

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) warned that the United Arab Emirates will experience extreme heat this weekend, with inland temperatures expected to climb as high as 48 °C. Coastal cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are forecast to see highs between 44 °C and 45 °C.

Despite the scorching temperatures, the NCM also predicts scattered convective clouds that could bring rain to the eastern emirates, especially Fujairah, where peak temperatures may drop to around 38 °C. The same weather system is expected to generate light to moderate southeasterly winds that will shift to northwesterly, stirring dust and reducing visibility in both inland and coastal areas. Elevated humidity may produce mist or fog overnight in some coastal zones.

Sea conditions across the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are projected to remain slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from two to four feet.
