UAE Heat Wave Temperatures Slightly Drop as Humidity Rises and Sharjah Receives Rain
A weak surface low-pressure system and an upper‑air high kept UAE weather mostly fair on Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures easing modestly. Daytime highs ranged from 39 °C to 47 °C inland, 39 °C‑45 °C on the coast and 33 °C‑38 °C in the mountains. Relative humidity increased after sunset, reaching 65‑85 % along the coast, 50‑70 % inland and 60‑80 % in mountain areas, prompting low cloud development and a chance of fog or mist that could affect early‑morning visibility. Light to moderate southeast and northwesterly winds blew at 10‑20 km/h, occasionally gusting to 30 km/h.
During the same period, rain fell in Sharjah’s Al Dhaid and Sohailah around 4 p.m., providing brief relief in the peak summer heat known locally as “Jamrat Al Qayth,” which runs from 3 July to 10 August. Daytime temperatures across the UAE typically reach 41‑46 °C during this phase, making the sudden showers a notable but short‑lived respite for residents.
