UAE Ministry of Human Resources warns of AI deepfake scams

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has issued a warning to the public regarding sophisticated deepfake scams. Fraudsters are using artificial intelligence to create realistic videos, voice recordings, and images that impersonate ministry officials and employees.

These deceptive communications aim to trick individuals into sharing sensitive personal or banking information, clicking on malicious links, or transferring funds. The ministry cautioned that the high level of realism in AI-generated content makes it increasingly difficult for recipients to distinguish genuine messages from fraudulent ones.

To protect themselves, MoHRE advises residents to verify any unexpected requests or announcements through official channels, such as the ministry’s website, mobile application, or call center. The ministry emphasized that individuals should not share private data or respond to unverified messages regardless of how authentic they appear.
