UAE sees rapid growth in AI agent adoption and start-up investment
The United Arab Emirates is seeing significant growth in the adoption of agentic artificial intelligence. Dubai-based start-up Ayan has raised Dh2.2 million in pre-seed funding to expand its platform, which tracks how AI assistants describe brands to consumers and helps companies manage their brand positioning across digital and physical channels.
A report from Ericsson ConsumerLab indicates that 63 per cent of smartphone users in the UAE are expected to delegate daily tasks to AI agents by 2030. Currently, 10 per cent of UAE users already utilize agentic AI capabilities, a figure double the global average of 5 per cent. The study also notes that 18 per cent of UAE smartphone owners are considered AI super users, a demographic projected to grow to 46 per cent by the end of the decade.
