UAEMéx concludes first season of senior well-being program
The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) has concluded the first season of its “Ven a Casa” program, a university initiative designed for the integral well-being of older adults. Coordinated by the Directorate of Continuing and Digital Education (DECyD), the program ran from May 7 to July 16 and hosted 109 participants aged between 55 and 84.
The initiative included 11 workshops focused on personal development, autonomy, and active participation. Participants, which included both the general public and retired university members, engaged in activities such as learning digital tools to strengthen personal skills and foster new social connections.
Xavier Gaytán Zepeda, director of DECyD, stated that the program aligns with the university’s Institutional Rector Development Plan, which prioritizes lifelong education. The program is built upon four pillars: activation, autonomy, self-actualization, and quality of life.
