UAEMéx Texcoco students threaten strike after breaking dialogue with authorities

Students at the UAEMéx Texcoco University Center have announced the termination of dialogue with university authorities following allegations that their demands regarding poor campus conditions have been ignored. The Student Assembly expressed frustration, stating that previous discussions resulted in empty commitments and that their requests were being sidelined.

A primary catalyst for the breakdown in negotiations was the announcement of a process to elect a director without prior consultation with the Governing Council. In response, students held an emergency assembly to vote on potential protest actions.

Three options have been proposed for the student body to consider: a temporary suspension of academic activities (while maintaining essential administrative services), the occupation of a toll booth as a protest measure, or a collective public demonstration. Voting to determine the course of action was scheduled to begin this Tuesday.
