UAEMéx scientific community projected to exceed 1,000 SNII researchers by 2027
The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) is experiencing significant growth in its scientific community. According to preliminary results from the 2026 call for the Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores (SNII), the university is projected to exceed 1,000 recognized researchers by January 1, 2027. This represents a 60.5 percent increase from the 630 members recorded in 2021.
The projected 1,011 researchers will include 524 at Level 1, 179 at Level 2, 32 at Level 3, and three Emeritus researchers. The demographic breakdown is expected to consist of 533 men and 478 women. Most researchers are concentrated in faculties, followed by university centers and professional academic units.
In addition to research growth, UAEMéx is pursuing academic and technological advancements. The institution recently held a symposium on teacher training to address the challenges of modern university teaching and the role of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the university has updated its mobile application to improve digital access to institutional services for its community.
