Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas expands infrastructure and academic programs

The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) is undertaking several institutional initiatives focused on infrastructure, academic expansion, and community engagement. In Ciudad Victoria, Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado inaugurated the ‘Amor por la Ciencia 2026’ summer camp, which hosts over 300 children in 80 specialized workshops to foster scientific curiosity. Additionally, the university is finalizing the new headquarters for the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism in Ciudad Victoria to accommodate growing student numbers.

In Nuevo Laredo, the rector supervised renovations at the Faculty of Commerce, Administration, and Social Sciences, including new computer centers and classrooms for Psychology and Freight Transport. The university is also exploring strategic expansion into Altamira to support the region's industrial and logistical growth.

Other regional academic updates include the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS) modernizing its internet infrastructure at the Mazatlán Campus to support bimodal learning models. Meanwhile, the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) has extended its scientific outreach to over 40 municipalities in Michoacán to encourage research vocations among youth.
