Ubatuba launches 26th Education Week with opening ceremony
More than 500 teachers, administrators and guests gathered at the Teatro Municipal Pedro Paulo Teixeira Pinto on Monday night, 27, for the opening of Ubatuba's 26th Semana de Educação. The event, themed “Resilience: Culture, History and Memory”, will run through Wednesday, 29, offering workshops, cultural presentations, lectures and professional‑development courses.
The opening featured a performance by the band Lira Ancheta, a trio of violin, clarinet and percussion, and a dance showcase by the Inclusive Dance project from EM Presidente Tancredo Neves titled “Raízes de Ubatuba”. Homages were given to two municipal teachers who died earlier this year, Simone Silva Oliveira and Andréia Antunes. The main lecture was delivered by education author Erik Penna, lasting about 1 hour 20 minutes and focusing on techniques to make teaching more engaging.
Secretary of Education Claudinei Jerônimo dos Santos highlighted the theme’s call to “look, evaluate and recognize what we have built”, while Mayor Flávia Paschoal praised the event’s return and recent achievements such as reopening schools in quilombola and caiçara communities.
