Ubatuba 26th Education Week

Ubatuba’s municipal education department opened its 26th Education Week on 27 October, running through 29 October. The program, themed “Resilience: Culture, History and Memory”, brings together roughly 5 000 participants—including teachers, supervisors, early‑childhood agents and municipal staff—for lectures, round‑table discussions, workshops and cultural performances at venues such as the Teatro Municipal Pedro Paulo Teixeira Pinto, Praça Exaltação da Santa Cruz and the Igreja Videira.

The opening ceremony drew more than 500 teachers, administrators and guests. A performance by the band Lira Ancheta and a dance showcase by the Inclusive Dance project honored two municipal teachers who died earlier in the year. Education author Erik Penna delivered the main lecture, focusing on engaging teaching techniques. Secretary of Education Claudinei Jerônimo dos Santos highlighted the theme’s call to assess and recognize local achievements, while Mayor Flávia Paschoal praised the event’s return and the reopening of schools in quilombola and caiçara communities.

Key speakers and contributors across the week include Caio Callegari, coordinator‑general of Educational Equity at the Ministry of Education; sociologist César Callegari; entrepreneur Erik Penna; the SAMU medical‑emergency team; game designer Rennan Gonçalves; Dr Marcela Pellegrino Rodrigues; psychopedagogue Flávia Varallo; and educator Ton Ferreira. Cultural highlights feature the Banda Lira and the Projeto Vem Dançar, underscoring the blend of educational and artistic activities designed to foster resilience in the community.
