Uber drivers face legal actions in Argentina over alleged misconduct

An Uber driver in Rivadavia was accused of exposing himself to a passenger and his defense has offered a settlement of $60,000 to the complainant and a $1,000 fine to the state, seeking to have the criminal case dismissed without a trial. The prosecutor must decide whether to approve the agreement.

In a separate incident in Chimbas, a passenger left his backpack in the driver’s vehicle as collateral while he obtained the remaining $1,600 needed for a $4,000 fare. When he returned, the driver had fled with the vehicle and the belongings. Police have opened an investigation into the alleged theft.
