Ubisoft announces cross-play and Central Park expansion for The Division 2
Ubisoft has announced major updates for The Division 2 to sustain the title seven years after its initial 2019 release. During Gamescom 2026, the publisher confirmed the upcoming Echoes of Central Park expansion and the implementation of cross-play functionality.
Cross-play is scheduled to arrive on all supported platforms in November 2026 and will be enabled by default. Developers noted that the delay in implementing this feature was due to the necessity of rebuilding significant portions of the game’s online architecture. As part of this update, clan capacities will increase to 100 members, and while existing communities will migrate automatically, leaderboards will be reset.
The Echoes of Central Park expansion will introduce a 3.41-square-kilometer recreation of New York’s Central Park, an area previously inaccessible to players. The expansion is expected to feature a darker atmosphere, reflecting the park's use as a mass burial site during the pandemic. Ubisoft is set to reveal further details regarding the expansion on September 24.
