Ubisoft announces Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake for 2027

Ubisoft has announced a remake of the strategy classic ‘Heroes of Might and Magic III’, scheduled for release in 2027. Developed by Ubisoft Studios in Chengdu and Shanghai, the project will utilize the Snowdrop engine to transition the game from its original fixed 2D isometric perspective to a detailed 3D world with a free-moving camera.

The remake aims to modernize the experience with 4K graphics, dynamic lighting, real-time weather, and changing seasons while preserving the core turn-based strategy, hero progression, and tactical grid-based combat. It will include all three original campaigns, as well as ‘Armageddon’s Blade’ and ‘The Shadow of Death’, integrated into a continuous narrative. A new prologue will also be added to introduce the game's mechanics to new players.

Key features include support for classic community maps and simultaneous turns in online matches. The game is planned for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and will be available through Ubisoft+.
