Xbox expands Disc-to-Digital program with Ubisoft support

Microsoft is expanding its Xbox Disc-to-Digital program, which allows users to convert compatible physical Xbox One and Xbox Series X discs into digital licenses. Ubisoft has officially joined the program for Xbox Insider testers, enabling titles such as Far Cry Primal, Far Cry 4, and various Assassin’s Creed games to be converted. This initiative aims to help players preserve their physical libraries for future consoles that may lack disc drives.

While Ubisoft has joined, several major publishers including Sega, Square Enix, and Bandai Namco are not yet participating. This means popular titles like Elden Ring and Final Fantasy are currently ineligible for digital conversion. The program remains in a testing phase for Xbox Insiders.

In addition to the Disc-to-Digital updates, Microsoft is testing new system features for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One Insiders. These include customizable console startup animations, improved Remote Play resolution up to 1440p, the ability to continue game downloads while using Xbox Cloud Gaming, and enhanced voice clarity for party chats.
