Ubisoft to shut down Rainbow Six Mobile

Ubisoft has announced that Rainbow Six Mobile will shut down less than a year after its global launch. The free-to-play tactical shooter will remain available to players until January 15.

Developed over six and a half years by eleven Ubisoft studios in collaboration with Tencent, the project was intended to expand the franchise to millions of new players through short, accessible sessions. In a statement, Ubisoft noted that while they are proud of the community and the team's dedication, the staff will transition to other long-term strategic projects.

This decision follows recent organizational changes at Ubisoft, including the rebranding of its Creative House 2 business unit to Massive Entertainment. This unit manages major franchises such as Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell.
