Ubisoft Rainbow Six Mobile shutdown

Overview

Ubisoft has announced the shutdown of its free-to-play tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Mobile, scheduled for January 15, 2027. This decision comes less than a year after the game’s full global release in February 2026, despite having been in soft launch since 2023.

The project, developed by Ubisoft Nova and eleven other Ubisoft studios in collaboration with Tencent, was intended to expand the franchise through accessible mobile sessions. Ubisoft stated that the decision to sunset the title was made to redirect resources toward other “long-term strategic projects.”

While the game will remain playable until the January shutdown date and the next season is expected to launch as planned, the announcement follows broader organizational changes at Ubisoft, including the rebranding of its Creative House 2 business unit to Massive Entertainment.
