UBTECH and FAW-Volkswagen partner on humanoid robots for factory logistics

UBTECH and FAW-Volkswagen have entered a strategic partnership to develop and test humanoid robots for logistics applications within vehicle manufacturing facilities. This collaboration expands upon previous trials where UBTECH’s Walker S Lite robot was used for vehicle quality inspections at the automaker’s Qingdao factory.

The new agreement focuses on utilizing embodied AI to support smart manufacturing and more flexible production processes. The companies aim to build demonstration sites to evaluate robotic solutions for factory logistics, specifically targeting the repetitive movement of components and materials throughout production environments.

UBTECH’s involvement follows successful integration of its robots with factory automation control systems. The company continues to scale its industrial humanoid robot production, utilizing its specialized manufacturing facilities to support the growing demand for intelligent automation in the automotive sector.
