UBTECH launches humanoid robots and automated assembly factory
Chinese robotics company UBTECH has launched the UWORLD U1, described as the world’s first mass-produced, full-sized bionic humanoid robot. Designed as a social and emotional assistant for the elderly or individuals living alone, the robot features biomimetic skin and an AI system capable of recognizing over 20 human emotional states with more than 90% accuracy. While the company reported over 13,000 orders, initial deliveries have been limited to approximately 2,000 units, with primary recipients being businesses rather than private consumers.
In a related industrial development, UBTECH has opened a specialized factory in Liuzhou, Guangxi, featuring an assembly line where robots are used to build other robots. Developed in collaboration with Digital Industries Software and utilizing Siemens' Plant Simulation tools, the facility aims for an annual production exceeding 10,000 units. The plant utilizes specialized units like the Cruzur Y1 and S2 for logistics and palletizing, alongside Walker S humanoids, to automate assembly, quality control, and warehouse management.
