UBTECH Robotics opens humanoid robot factory in Liuzhou, China

UBTECH Robotics has launched a large-scale humanoid robot manufacturing facility in Liuzhou, China. The 14,000-square-meter plant is designed to produce over 10,000 humanoid robots annually, marking a transition from prototype development to mass industrial production.

In a notable circular manufacturing model, humanoid robots are used within the facility to assist in the production process itself. Models such as the Cruzr Y1 and Cruzr S2 perform tasks including material handling, stacking, and logistics. The production line is highly efficient, capable of completing one robot approximately every 10 minutes.

The facility was developed in collaboration with Siemens Digital Industries Software, utilizing a digital management system described as a ‘smart brain’ to coordinate production planning, component distribution, and quality control. Each finished unit undergoes a rigorous four-hour performance test and a 360-degree visual inspection. The plant primarily produces the Walker S and Cruzr series of industrial humanoid robots.
