UCR Córdoba to hold internal elections for party leadership
The Unión Cívica Radical (UCR) in Córdoba will hold internal elections on September 20 to determine the leadership of the Provincial Committee, following a failure to reach a unity agreement.
The officialist faction, Generación X, has nominated provincial legislator Matías Gvozdenovich to lead the committee. This group is supported by figures such as Rodrigo De Loredo and Marcos Ferrer. In the capital, the officialist list is headed by Miguel Nicolás.
The opposition alliance, Más Radicalismo, has presented former Río Cuarto mayor Juan Jure as its candidate, with Cristina Giorcelli and Franco Jular as his running mates. In the capital, the opposition is represented by Pablo Farías, the current president of the Capital Committee.
The deadlock arose primarily from disagreements regarding the distribution of seats within the Provincial Congress, which is responsible for defining party strategy and electoral alliances for the 2027 elections. The party's electoral board will now review the submitted documentation to certify the validity of the lists.
