Navy sailor and family found dead in Mumbai's Navy Nagar

An Indian Navy sailor, his wife, and their two young children were found dead at their official residence in the high-security Navy Nagar area of Colaba, South Mumbai, on August 15.

Preliminary investigations by the Cuffe Parade police suggest a possible murder-suicide. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Kalwaniya, the sailor appears to have died by hanging, while the deaths of his wife and two children—aged two months and three years—are suspected to have been caused by poisoning.

The Indian Navy confirmed the incident and stated it is cooperating fully with the Mumbai Police investigation. Forensic teams have examined the scene, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations to determine the exact causes and sequence of death. Authorities are currently investigating all possible motives and circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
