Udhampur security forces kill two terrorists in encounter

Security forces have launched major operations in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir following reports of suspicious movement. A joint team comprising the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police is conducting searches in the Majalta area.

A late-night encounter in the Sohan area of Udhampur resulted in the deaths of two terrorists.

These developments follow recent police activity in the Pir Panjal region, where Rajouri Police arrested three individuals allegedly linked to a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) overground worker network. The suspects, identified as Zakir Hussain, Mohd Azam, and Mohd Mushtaq, were accused of providing logistical support, safe transit, and ground-level assistance to terrorist groups moving toward the Kashmir Valley. During the investigation, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was also recovered.
