Security operations in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir

Overview

Security forces in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir launched major operations in the Majalta area following reports of suspicious movement. A joint team consisting of the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Jammu and Kashmir Police Special Operations Group (SOG) conducted searches in the region.

A late-night encounter in the Sohan area, designated as ‘Operation Sohan’, resulted in the deaths of two terrorists identified as Mustafa and Saddam. Both individuals were reported to be Pakistani nationals affiliated with the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Following the engagement, authorities recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition, including AK rifles, an M4 carbine, a Glock pistol, magazines, and grenades. Security forces have maintained a presence in the area to continue search operations.
